FAQ's

Why do we ship only Priority Mail? TOP

We would love to offer shipment via First Class Mail, and ship in bubble envelopes or soft packaging for some of our smaller items. It would be less costly for our customers in terms of postage, and for us in terms of carrying stocks of boxes, bubble wrap, tape, and other packaging materials. However, intelligent retailers know that customer satisfaction is far more important than a cheaper price, either in product or shipping. And, receiving a damaged product in a bubble envelope, takes any enjoyment out of a purchase immediately.

Many of our items are "one of a kind" and cannot be replaced if they are broken in transit. Losing a waited-for purchase by saving some postage just doesn't seem like logical economy, especially in today's automated package handling systems. We have found that Priority Mail shipping in a box gets your items to you in just a few days in safe condition, with Delivery Confirmation always included, at no extra charge.

How do I combine shipping on multiple items? TOP

Simply add your items to your shopping cart and the automatic calculator will compute the shipping cost for you. On occasion, especially with numerous very light items, we will make a correction on the charges and refund excess shipping charges through PayPal, as we can combine purchases into one smaller, lighter package to save you money. We're always trying our best to serve you efficiently, and send your purchases to you as quickly and as economically as possible. Thank you for your interest.

What was the Victorian Era? TOP

The Victorian Era is generally thought of as the period from the middle of 1837 to the beginning of 1901, and was a time of great prosperity for the British people, under the rule of Queen Victoria. This period was preceded by the Georgian Period and succeeded by the Edwardian Period. Items reminiscent of the design, culture and manufacture of these periods are often referred to as having a Victorian, Georgian or Edwardian theme.
